Praise is the highest work of God’s children. Or we could say that the highest expression of a saint's spiritual life is praising God. God’s throne is the highest point in the universe, and He "is enthroned on the praises of Israel." God's name and His very being are exalted through praise.
David wrote in his psalm that he would pray to God three times a day (Psalm 55:17), and he also wrote that he would praise God seven times a day (Psalm 119:164). David, moved by the Holy Spirit, acknowledged the importance of praise—prayer may be three times a day, but praise is seven. Not only that, he also appointed some Levites to stand before the ark of God, playing harps and lyres, to praise, give thanks, and glorify God (1 Chronicles 16:4-6). After Solomon completed all the work of the house of the Lord, and the priests brought the ark into the Most Holy Place, as the priests came out of the sanctuary, there was also a group of Levites singing and praising God, standing by the altar, playing trumpets and singing with all kinds of instruments. At that moment, the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God (2 Chronicles 5:12-14). Both David and Solomon touched the heart of God and offered praise that was pleasing to Him. The Lord is enthroned upon the praises of Israel, and we should praise the Lord all our lives, and we should sing praises to our God.
