The Bible speaks of the Lord’s return many times—on average, once every twenty verses in the New Testament. At the end of Revelation, the Lord clearly says, "Surely I am coming quickly!" (Revelation 22:20). However, the Lord’s return will not happen automatically. The gospel of the kingdom must first be preached to the whole world, and then the end will come (Matthew 24:14). The Lord longs to gain a group of people in the church who are one with Him in heart and in work, so that through them He can bring this age to a close and return.
This group is the overcomers—those who do not love their own lives, but who care for God’s kingdom and His will. They are those who can be used by the Lord to destroy God’s enemies and all the forces of darkness. Their lives are marked by forsaking all, choosing voluntary poverty, and standing as a testimony against this present age of storing up wealth. The Lord is searching for such people—who is willing to respond to His call and welcome His return?
This book is a collection of fifteen messages drawn from the writings of Brother Watchman Nee. It focuses on the end of this age, the return of Christ, the rapture of the believers, the reward and discipline in the millennial kingdom, the New Jerusalem in eternity, and the proper attitude believers should have toward the Lord’s coming. Each chapter ends with a citation of its original source.
